Watch: Bangladesh batter called back from dressing room after run out fiasco against West Indies

NEW DELHI: Run-outs in cricket can often lead to hilarious moments on the field, either due to confusion, miscommunication, or sheer bad luck.
But a batter returning from the dressing room after his run out is a rare occurrence.
That’s precisely what happened in the 3rd T20I between West Indies and Bangladesh at Arnos Vale Ground, Kingstown, St Vincent on Friday.
On the third delivery of the 15th over, Jaker Ali flicked a Roston Chase delivery to mid-wicket and called for two, running the first one hard.
Jaker turned quickly and kept running for the second run, but Shamim Hossain started and stopped before going back.
West Indies wicket-keeper Nicholas Pooran ran towards the square leg region quickly and fired an accurate throw for Chase to complete the formalities at the non-striker’s end.
Both the batters end up at the same end and livid Jaker walked back to the pavilion.
But the replays showed that Shamim was just outside the crease and his bat was in the air while Jaker slid his bat in!
So, the umpires called Jaker back from the dressing room and it was Shamim who was dismissed for 2 runs.
Windies Cricket shared a clip of the dismissal on their official X handle with the caption: “A comedy of errors leads to a run out”
