The Kalinga Lancers opened its HIL campaign with a 3-1 loss against the UP Rudras while the Tamil Nadu Dragons lost to Soorma Hockey Club on penalties in its match, after initially playing out a 1-1 draw.
Going into the clash, the Dragons find themselves sixth in the table with 1 point, while the Lancers are at the bottom of the table and have yet to open their points tally.
