South Africa pacer Kagiso Rabada has dethroned India’s bowling spearhead Jasprit Bumrah from the top of the ICC rankings for Test bowlers in the latest update released on Tuesday.
Rabada’s nine wickets in South Africa’s seven-wicket over Bangladesh in the first Test at Mirpur took him to the top of the standings. The right-arm pacer also reached the landmark of 300 Test wickets during the match.
Rabada’s performance helped him jump three places to end Bumrah’s reign at the top.

The 29-year-old Rabada first became the top Test bowler in January 2018, losing it in February 2019.
Bumrah, meanwhile, slipped to the third spot, behind Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood at No. 2. India’s veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is at the fourth spot, followed by the Australia captain and fast bowler Pat Cummins at the fifth position.
Pakistan spinner Noman Ali is the new entry in the top 10, placed 9th.
Noman spun Pakistan to victories in the second and third Test of the home series against England, helping his team win 2-1. It’s a career-high ranking for Noman, having jumped eight spots.
Left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner, who played a crucial role in New Zealand’s series-winning performance against India in the Pune Test, has achieved his personal best ranking.
Santner’s outstanding performance of 13 wickets in the match helped him advance 30 positions to be at the 44th spot in the current update of Test bowlers’ rankings.
