NEW DELHI: Riyan Parag and Shaswat Rawat scored half-centuries respectively to help India A solidify their position over India C on the third day of the four-day Duleep Trophy final round match in Anantapur on Saturday.
Parag contributed 73 runs from 101 balls, hitting five fours and one six. Meanwhile, Rawat scored a dynamic 53 off 67 balls, which included four boundaries and one six, leading India A to a total of 270 for six in their second innings.
Skipper Mayank Agarwal also added a steady 34 runs as the opener.
Parag and Rawat put together a 105-run partnership for the fifth wicket, extending India A’s overall lead to 333 runs.
At the close of play, wicket-keeper Kumar Kushagra was not out on 40 off 54 balls, with Tanush Kotian supporting him at 13 not out.
India A accumulated the runs in 64 overs.
For India C, Anshul Kamboj (2/52), Gaurav Yadav (2/60), and Manav Sutar (2/75) each picked up a couple of wickets.
Earlier in the day, India C resumed their innings at 216 for seven but collapsed to 234 in 71 overs, adding only 18 runs for their last three wickets.
Avesh Khan, who has experience playing in eight ODIs and 23 T20Is for India, took three wickets for 34 runs.
Aaqib Khan, a 20-year-old pacer from Uttar Pradesh, also contributed with three wickets for 43 runs.
