Virat Kohli made the day for Mehidy Hasan Miraz and won the hearts of his fans once again with a heartwarming gesture off the field, when he accepted a gift from the Bangladesh all-rounder and thanked in Bengali language.
“Khoob bhalo achi (it’s very good),” Kohli responded in Bengali with a smile, telling about the bat manufactured by Miraz’s company.
“Wish you all the best.Keep doing the good work,” added the Indian batting legend.
India and Bangladesh concluded their two-match Test series with the game in Kanpur, which India won by seven wickets despite two days of the match getting washed out by rain.
The hosts had won the first Test in Chennai by 280 runs.
The 2-0 series sweep strengthened India’s position on top of the World Test Championship table (WTC).
India will next play three T20Is against Bangladesh before welcoming New Zealand for a Test series of three matches. That will be followed by India travelling to Australia for the Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT).
India will defend the BGT in a five-Test series, which will also conclude Rohit Sharma & Co’s 2023-25 cycle of the WTC.
